Two Special Offers from The Chicago Manual of Style Online

Last week all University employees received an E-mail reminding them that students were returning for the new academic year on September 24, 2012—a little later than most schools.  That E-mail coincided with the beginning of Fall.  A new school year, a new season.

I wanted to check in with you and make sure that the subscription information I provided earlier this year regarding The Chicago Manual of Style Online was straight forward, understandable, and complete.  A new subscription can be set up in one or two days and will accommodate an unlimited number of simultaneous users.  Remote access is also permitted.  Subscription pricing information is included in the E-mail reproduced below.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the Online edition.

Have a great day.

Jim

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently completed a review of the institutional subscriber list for the Online edition of The Chicago Manual of Style and noticed that University of South Dakota does not currently subscribe.  I wanted to present updated Chicago Manual of Style Online subscription information for your consideration today with a two part offer.

The first part of the offer is a free trial subscription to the Online edition.  I have attached the Trial Registration Information form.  Please complete the form and return to my attention.  Note that the trial cannot be set up until the requested IP information is available.  The trial will run for four months.  Usage statistics will be available upon request at the end of the trial.

A new subscription pricing schedule for The Chicago Manual of Style Online was announced in September 2010.  The simultaneous seat ranges have been eliminated so that access to the Online edition is now unlimited.  More importantly, the subscription rates are now based on the same classification model used for other University of Chicago Press electronic subscription products.  The 16th edition of the Manual of Style was introduced last year as well.  Subscribers to the Online edition have access to both the 16th and the 15th editions.

The second part of the offer is a 20% discount on your initial annual subscription.  The updated annual subscription rate for the University with the 20% discount is $560.00 with no simultaneous user limit. I have also attached a copy of the Online order form with the institutional Terms & Conditions.  A signed license is not required.

Please let me know any questions you may have about The Chicago Manual of Style Online.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your time.
