Serials Solutions KnowledgeWorks

"The number one thing for us was that Serials Solutions already had a knowledgebase of pretty much the universe of electronic resources."

Normalization news

Normalization and authority title creation are the root of our knowledgebase, which is the foundation of our products. Since normalization goes on all the time, orchestrated by our editorial team, we'd like to point out the following milestones

  • Australian Newspaper database normalized to 100%: Our bibliographic control team worked in collaboration with the Libraries Australia to leverage their MARC record collection to normalize the Australian Newspaper database from 3% to 100%
  • Manually created authority titles hits 70,000: Our own metadata librarians, Kara Killough and Allison Feist, recently created TREDEG for Treballs de geografia. This bring the total of manually created authority titles to 70,000. This total doesn't even include the many MARC records or title variations we may have normalized to each authority title, which brings our number of serial titles to over 250K!
