Serials Solutions release notification: new 360 Counter reports; MARC coding changes; Support Center notice

Serials Solutions is excited to announce a new 360 Counter enhancement, preview some upcoming service news, and provide you with advanced notification of a one hour downtime for the Support Center on Friday, August 13.

360 Counter: New Pre-filtered Reports Now Available!

360 Counter customers now have the ability to take their complex usage data and create new pre-filtered reports for greater visibility into how collections are being accessed and used. New reports include:
• Titles from two or more providers
• Journals with a positive- or negative-percent change in use
• Platforms with a positive- or negative-percent change in use
• Top 100 journals calculated by use
• The 100 most expensive journals based on cost-per-use
• Navigate titles alphabetically

360 MARC Updates: MARC Coding Changes Coming Soon!

Two MARC coding changes were adopted by the CONSER at the Operations Meeting in May. These changes took effect June 1, 2010. Serials Solutions MARC service customers can expect to receive change records in their MARC deliveries as CONSER incorporates these changes in their records. We will give you more information, as we receive it, about the timing of global updates. Please click here to sign up for future status updates and also learn more details about these changes.

If your library would like to make changes in your MARC template in response to these new coding changes, please outline your request through the Support Center.

Serials Solutions Support Center Upgrade

We are making some enhancements, functional and aesthetic, to the Support Center in order to help us provide you with even better service. Please note the following impacts:
• The Support Center will be unavailable for approximately 1 hour starting at 6 p.m. PDT on Friday, August 13 (World Time Clock Conversion). A notice will be on the site during this time reminding clients that we are performing maintenance.
• The Online Community will not be accepting new posts from Thursday, August 5, to Monday, August 16, so that the conversation threads and member profiles can be copied to an upgraded system coming online August 16. You will have the ability to read existing threads throughout the upgrade process.
After the upgrade, the Support Center will continue to function as it always has. It’s the place to go for accessing documentation, tracking questions/incidents you send to us, interacting with other Serials Solutions clients in the Online Community, and more.
