The Oxford Chinese Dictionary contains over 300,000 words and phrases and 370,000 translations, including the latest vocabulary from computing, business, the media, and the arts, as well as tens of thousands of example phrases illustrating key points of construction and usage. There are over 300 cultural notes giving essential information about many aspects of life and culture in the Chinese and English-speaking worlds. October is National Medical Librarians Month The Medical Library Association has declared October as National Medical Librarians Month to raise awareness of the important role of the health information professional. Medical librarians are an integral part of the healthcare team. They have a direct impact on the quality of patient care and research by helping users stay current about advances in their specialty areas. They teach students and healthcare providers how to find and evaluate information, and provide access to resources in a variety of formats. The data encompasses all new titles treated on the Approval Plan programs of YBP and YBP U.K. Since our Approval Plan programs are expressly designed to serve academic libraries, our data, which we have reported in a consistent way for the last 14 years is a useful index to English-language publishing trends for scholarly, professional and scientific books. We are pleased to present these reports for our company's 2009/2010 fiscal year. The report and a complete set of data, showing separate YBP and YBP U.K totals for all titles handled between July 2009 and June 2010 can be found on the YBP website (click here).
